Historical Trivia Drawing Game

Pencilvania is a historical trivia drawing game where knowing the answer is only half the challenge. Each round, one player secretly sees the answer and must help their team guess it by drawing clues — but there’s a catch: the most obvious clues are forbidden.

Teams begin with only the category and have one minute to guess from the first drawing. If they get stuck, they unlock additional historical clues and new drawings, but the longer it takes, the fewer points they earn. Guess correctly in the first round to score big, or piece together the answer through creativity, deduction, and a little historical know-how.

The team with the most points at the end of the game wins — but every round is packed with frantic sketches, clever guesses, and hilarious attempts to draw history without using the clues everyone wants to use.

Each round, one player becomes the artist and secretly looks at the card. The card shows the historical answer, the basic clue, the advanced clue, and a list of forbidden clues that cannot be drawn.

To start, the team only hears the category. The artist has one minute to draw a clue and help their team guess the answer. If the team guesses correctly, they score 10 points.

If they miss, the advanced clue is read aloud and the artist gets a fresh 45-second drawing round. A correct guess here scores 7 points. If they still need help, the basic clue is revealed for one final 30-second round worth 3 points.

The faster your team connects the sketch to the answer, the more points you earn. But with the most obvious clues off-limits, every round becomes a fun mix of history, creativity, and quick-thinking chaos.
