From the First Step, to the Moon!

A Race for the Ages is a fast-paced memory racing game where players match cards to speed through five stages—running, biking, sailing, driving, and finally rocketing toward the Moon.

Use your memory, bonus cards, and special board spaces to gain an edge, and be the first racer to successfully land on the Moon to win.

What is A Race for the Ages?

A Race for the Ages is a family-friendly memory racing game where every match moves you closer to the Moon. Players begin on foot and race through five increasingly exciting stages—Run, Bike, Sailing, Car, and Rocket—using memory, smart timing, bonus cards, and special board spaces to gain an edge.

On your turn, reveal two cards for everyone to see and try to find the match you currently need. Make the correct match and you’ll move farther, advance your personal tracker, and go again; miss, and you’ll still inch forward while giving your opponents valuable information to remember.

But memory alone won’t win the race. Terrain spaces can boost you forward or slow you down, stage-specific Bonus Cards can change your strategy, and trailing racers can earn valuable peeks to help them catch up. Reach the Launch Pad, find Liftoff, guide your rocket toward the Moon, and be the first player to match the final Landing cards to win.

Remember. Match. Move faster. From the first step to the Moon!

How the Game Works

Every racer is trying to move through the five stages of the course by finding matching pairs of cards in the correct sequence. The farther you progress within a stage, the more spaces your successful matches can move you.

On your turn, reveal two cards from the active memory grid for everyone to see. If you find the pair you currently need, move the listed number of spaces, advance your player-board tracker, turn the cards back facedown, and go again. If you miss, turn the cards back over, move 1 space, and your turn ends.

Matched Race Cards always stay in the grid, so every reveal gives the entire table new information to remember. Bonus Cards work differently—match a Bonus pair and you claim it, remove it from the grid, and gain a special ability you can use to help your race.

As you move along the board, special spaces can give you a boost, slow you down, or let you peek at hidden cards. Reach a transition and you immediately begin the next stage, even if you didn’t complete every match in the previous one.

The final stage is the Rocket. You must first find Liftoff to leave the Launch Pad, then work through the Rocket sequence until you reach the Moon. Match the final Landing pair, and you win the race.
